Cacao Agroforestry

The modern world is full of examples of people creating wealth by destroying the environment and using its resources. In light of climate change, rising temperatures, intensifying rains and challenging economic times it is critical to create alternative paths of wealth creation that take care of and restore the environment.

In the Philippines, many farmers have land but need support to bring about yields that we can all enjoy.

MAD is working with upland communities in the Sierra Madre on growing rainforest with ecotourism and agroforestry programs so that communities can earn while taking care of the land. Make a sweet difference by supporting our cacao farmers project!

In 2025, MAD will be supporting farmers to transition to partial shade agro forestry programs in their low and midland areas, while retaining forest cover at the highland. The top areas provide water security and landslide protection for crops on lower slopes, and their homes at the foothills.

Sponsor a tree today to help our farmers earn while taking care of the planet! Your donation will also empower the community to restore soil carbon through biochar and other permaculture methods that the MAD team will co-implement on the field.

*Our project is not a monoculture plot, but rather a poly culture of different species of native shrubs, trees and fruit trees - like cacao, mixed together.

Donate and sponsor a cacao farmer now and equip them with the trees and skills to become stewards of the mountains!
