Permaculture Forest Building - Subic Bay

For those that want a hands on activity for saving water, we are running a permaculture volunteer activity on April 11, 2026 in Subic Bay. 0800am-1130am.

We need volunteers who are willing to do labor and carry soil, leaves, twigs and create Hugel Mounds to conserve moisture in the community's calamansi agroforest to prepare them for the hot summer ahead.

Key Benefits of Hugel Mounds:

Water Retention: Ideal for dry seasons, especially in El Niño-prone areas.
Flood Mitigation: Absorbs excess rainwater during the wet season.
Soil Enrichment: Great for regions with poor or degraded soil.
Low Maintenance: Reduces need for fertilizers and irrigation.
Waste Recycling: Makes use of fallen branches, coconut husks, banana stalks, etc.
